1715, Nahum Tate, English poet laureate, died in Southwark, London, England. Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1652, he collaborated with Nickolas Brady to produce A New Version of the Psalms of David in 1696, and Psalter in 1702.

1988, the controversial movie The Last Temptation of Christ was released, sparking protests from fundamentalist and evangelical church groups across the nation. These protests, as you might expect, were a highly effective witness for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. When faced with protesters carrying signs, potential movie-viewers fell to their knees, confessing their sins, and submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Churches across the nation were forced to launch new building projects to accommodate all the new converts. The impact was so great that several communities actually experienced the loss of water pressure as many churches simultaneously filled their baptisteries in preparation for baptism services on the following Sunday night.
